Cornerstone handles the construction and the masonry, so you are not chasing two contractors to get a porch, a chimney, or a foundation done. Here is the work we take on for homeowners across Jefferson County.

New builds, board replacement, and repairs sized for Northern New York snow load, with framing and fasteners that stay solid season after season.

Leak tracing, shingle replacement, and full re-roofs built to shed heavy lake-effect snow and hold up to ice-dam pressure.

Front steps, columns, railings, and landings rebuilt so the first thing visitors see is level, safe, and squared away.

Sagging floors, rotted sills, failing posts, and beam work handled with the load carried properly, not patched over.

Siding, trim, and weather-facing details replaced to seal out water and hold their line through the freeze-thaw cycle.

The list of smaller repairs and upgrades most crews will not schedule, done right and finished cleanly.

Crown repairs, rebuilds above the roofline, and full restorations that stop water before it reaches the flue or the framing.

Cracked, loose, or spalling brick and block reset and matched so the fix reads as part of the original wall.

Failing mortar joints ground out and repacked to lock the wall back together and keep moisture from working deeper.

Natural and manufactured veneer on foundations, facades, and chimneys, set on a proper base so it stays put.

Paver and stone hardscapes graded to drain and built on a compacted base that resists heaving through the winter.

Retaining walls that hold their grade and foundation and mortar repairs that get moisture moving away from the house.
We build for the weather we actually get. Frost depth, freeze-thaw, and lake-effect snow shape every footing, joint, and roofline we touch.
Strong materials, proper prep, and a base done right the first time. A repair should outlast the reason you called us, not fail again next spring.
You get a clear written estimate before work starts, so you know what the job includes and what it costs. No moving numbers, no surprises at the end.
One point of contact from the first walk-through to the final look. You will know what is happening, when we are on site, and what comes next.

We work throughout Jefferson County and the surrounding communities. If you are near one of these towns, give us a call and we will come take a look.
Yes. We come out, look at the actual work, and give you a written, itemized estimate at no cost and with no obligation. Seeing the site in person is the only way to quote masonry and construction work honestly, so we do not price it over the phone.
Ask three things. First, for proof of insurance you can verify. Second, for a written, itemized estimate rather than one lump-sum number. Third, for recent local jobs you can go look at. Any contractor worth hiring will answer all three without hesitation, and Cornerstone is happy to.
Water gets into small cracks and joints, freezes, expands, and pries the wall apart a little more each year. That is what causes spalling brick, crumbling mortar, and leaning chimneys. The fix is to repair failing joints, keep water moving away from the wall, and use mortar and materials rated for our freeze-thaw cycle.
Not always. If only the crown and the top few courses of brick are damaged, a partial rebuild and a new crown usually solves it. A full rebuild is needed when the mortar has failed deep into the stack or the chimney is leaning. We will tell you which one you actually have, and why, before you spend a dollar.
Most residential decks, patios, and walkways run a few days to a couple of weeks depending on size, access, and weather. Chimney and structural repairs vary more. We give you a realistic timeline with the estimate and tell you up front if weather or material lead times could move it.
Yes. We take on everything from a section of failing mortar or a few rotted deck boards to a full re-roof, a rebuilt porch, or a stone veneer facade. If it is residential construction or masonry in the Watertown area, it is worth a call.
Tell us what you are working on and we will set up a time to take a look. Calling is the fastest way to get on the schedule, or send us an email and we will get right back to you.
